What is iTapPad?

iTapPad is a web site for creating personalized link pages that is specifically designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The concept behind iTapPad is create a link portal or homepage that acquires the look and feel of the iPhone. The TapPads are sort of home pages designed for tapping.

Why should I have a TapPad?

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, iTapPad makes internet browing easier. The TapPads are designed so that non-web developers can create persona;ized link pages. If you are a web developer, you can probably design your own link page for your iPhone but iTapPad will probably be easier than rolling your site.

What is a TapLink?

A TapLink is what I have decided ti call the buttons on a TapPad because it is a link and you tap on it when displayed in your iPhone. The image that is displayed for the Tap:ink is the TapLink icon.

How does a TapPad work?

A TapPad is a web page that you design using the TapPad Designer. This web page is accessible from Safari on you iPhone. To get to your TapPad, you go to http://iTapPad.com/ followed by a coded user name provided by iTapPad. The TapPad will display and you will quick access to your favorite sites.

The TapPad does not require any installation on you iPhone. It requires only internet access.

What does it cost to get a TapPad?

Nothing, nada, zip, zilch or $0.00. Using iTapPad is FREE. However, if you find it useful I do accept donations.

Can I add my own items to my TapPad?

YES! Design your TapLink icons and upload them. Your TapPad should be a reflection of you.

How do I create the icons for my links?

There is a starndard size for the TapLink Icons. You can download the TapLink template for Photoshop or you can create your own icons from scratch. You can design the icon to your personal taste, however, there is a limit to the file size that you upload to iTapPad.com. This limit is inplace to prevent malicious people from overloading the servers. Also, whn you think about it, an 80 x73 pixel image can only contain so many bytes of data.

Are TapLinks only for redirecting to web sites?

No. While most TapLinks are designed to launch a web site, there is some flexiibilty in where the TapLinks take you. The TapLinks can take you to a URL, another TapPad page or it can even dial a phone number for you.

How do I get technical support?

Technical support is available at admin@iTapPad.com. I will try to get to every support case as quickly as possible.

Will TapPads work on non-Apple smart phones?

iTapPad is designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch. However, if you have a smart phone that has internet capability, iTapPad will work on your phone but it may not be properly size to fit on the screen.

Can I use my TapPad on my laptop?

Yes. The TapPads are web pages. They can accessed from any internet browser. The dialing feature will not work on non-iPhones.

How do I link to a second TapPad?

Add a Navigation TapLink like the Games or Arrow icons.
In the Designer, click on the new TapLink.
In the TapLink Edit section, click on 'Tap To' menu and select the name of the page you want the link to go to.
The 'URL' is ignored for TapPad redirection. Click Update TapLink.

Is there an affiliate program?

No, since iTapPad is free. There is nothing to sell and therefore no benefits for an affiliate program.

Are you an Apple developer?

Yes. Dacques Viker has been an Apple Developer since 1990. He will be developing applications for the iPhone in the near future.

Is iTapPad associated with Apple?

No. If we were, the web site would not be black and yellow.
